Description
The Abarth 204A Berlinetta Corsa is a rare and iconic sports car from the early 1950s, one of the first cars built by Carlo Abarth after establishing his company, Abarth & C., in 1949. Based on the Fiat 1100, the 204A was heavily modified by Abarth to enhance both its performance and styling. The car was equipped with a modified version of the Fiat 1100’s 1.1-liter inline-four engine, which was tuned to produce significantly more power than the original. The lightweight aluminum body, designed by Italian coachbuilder Michelotti, contributed to its impressive performance on the track.
The 204A Berlinetta Corsa was built primarily for racing and competed in various events during the early 1950s. One of its most notable achievements was winning the 1950 Palermo-Monte Pellegrino hill climb, driven by the legendary racing driver Tazio Nuvolari. The car’s design is sleek and aerodynamic, with a low-slung body, long hood, and a distinctive fastback rear, making it both visually striking and efficient on the track. Given its limited production and racing success, the Abarth 204A Berlinetta Corsa is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
