Description
The Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior was introduced in 1966 as an entry-level model in the Bertone-designed Giulia GT lineup. It was powered by a 1.3-liter inline-four DOHC engine producing 89 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Despite its modest displacement, the high-revving nature of the engine and the car’s lightweight construction allowed for a spirited driving experience, with a top speed of approximately 170 km/h.
The exterior maintained the elegant and sporty design of the original Giulia Sprint GT, featuring a distinctive Alfa Romeo grille, round headlights, and clean, flowing lines. The interior was simple yet functional, with a driver-focused dashboard, classic round gauges, and high-quality materials. Designed to provide an affordable yet engaging alternative to larger-displacement Alfa coupés, the GT 1300 Junior became a favorite among driving enthusiasts and remains a highly regarded classic today.
