The Austin A35 2D was the two-door saloon version of the Austin A35, a small and economical car produced by Austin from 1956 to 1968. It was designed as an improvement over the earlier A30, offering better performance, enhanced visibility, and minor design refinements while maintaining the compact size and affordability that made it popular.

Powered by a 948cc A-Series four-cylinder engine, the A35 2D produced around 34 horsepower, providing improved acceleration and a top speed of approximately 70 mph. The four-speed manual gearbox featured better synchromesh than the A30, allowing for smoother gear changes. The lightweight monocoque construction contributed to good fuel efficiency and easy handling, making it well-suited for both urban and rural driving.

The exterior styling of the A35 retained the rounded look of the A30 but included a larger rear window for better visibility and a painted front grille instead of chrome. The two-door saloon variant was particularly popular among younger drivers and small families, offering a compact yet practical interior.
