Description
The Austin Seven Pearl was an elegant and refined variant of the Austin Seven, introduced in the mid-1930s as part of the updated range that included the Ruby and Opal models. Designed as a four-seater tourer, it combined the practicality of an open-top car with stylish bodywork, offering an enjoyable and affordable motoring experience.
Powered by the dependable 747cc four-cylinder engine, the Pearl provided modest but reliable performance, well-suited for both urban and countryside driving. It featured a more rounded and streamlined body compared to earlier tourer models, with flowing wings, a slightly raked radiator grille, and a well-finished interior. The folding fabric roof allowed for an open-air driving experience while still offering protection from the elements when needed.
As one of the last tourer models in the Austin Seven range before production ended in 1939, the Pearl represented the final evolution of the beloved Seven’s open-top variants. Today, it is a sought-after classic, appreciated for its vintage charm, usability, and place in Austin’s rich motoring history.
