Description
The Autobianchi A112 Junior was introduced as the entry-level variant of the popular A112 range. Positioned to appeal to younger drivers or those seeking an affordable and practical city car, the Junior offered the same compact hatchback body as its siblings but with a more basic level of trim and a smaller engine.
It was powered by a 903 cc inline-four engine, producing around 42 horsepower, which provided adequate performance for urban driving and short-distance travel. The engine was paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, and like other A112s, it featured a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout, which made it easy to handle and maneuver in tight spaces.
Visually, the A112 Junior was more subdued than the higher-spec versions like the Elegant or Abarth. It lacked the sporty trim and features, opting instead for simpler bumpers, basic steel wheels, and minimal chrome detailing. Inside, the cabin was straightforward, with functional materials and fewer amenities, reflecting its focus on affordability and practicality.
Despite its basic nature, the A112 Junior retained the agile chassis and responsive steering that made the A112 range popular. It offered an engaging drive in a small and economical package, making it a smart choice for budget-conscious buyers or new drivers.
