Description
The Facel Vega FV1 Cabriolet was part of the Facel Vega FV series, produced in the mid-1950s by the French luxury automaker Facel Vega. The FV1, introduced in 1955, continued the marque’s tradition of combining French craftsmanship with American power. This model was equipped with a 4.5-liter Chrysler V8 engine, producing around 180 horsepower, which provided impressive performance for a grand tourer of its class.
The FV1 Cabriolet featured a sleek, elegant open-top design, with luxurious appointments like leather interiors, chrome accents, and a high-quality dashboard. It was aimed at discerning customers who wanted both high performance and refined styling, making it popular among celebrities and the wealthy. The cabriolet version added the appeal of open-air driving to the existing charm of the Facel Vega coupe models.
Only a small number of FV1 Cabriolets were produced, making them extremely rare and sought after by collectors today. Their blend of European luxury and American muscle, coupled with Facel Vega’s dedication to craftsmanship, ensures their place as icons of 1950s automotive design.
