Description
The Lamborghini 350 GT was Lamborghini’s first production model, launched in 1964 following the success of the prototype 350 GTV. Designed to establish Lamborghini as a serious competitor to Ferrari, the 350 GT combined high performance with refined Italian craftsmanship, setting the foundation for Lamborghini’s reputation in luxury sports cars.
The 350 GT was powered by a 3.5-liter V12 engine developed by Giotto Bizzarrini. Tuned for production, the engine produced around 280 horsepower, giving the car a top speed of approximately 250 km/h (155 mph). Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, the 350 GT offered smooth power delivery and impressive acceleration, with handling enhanced by an advanced independent suspension system.
The car’s design, executed by Carrozzeria Touring, featured elegant curves, a long hood, and a low profile, creating a balance between aggression and sophistication. The 350 GT’s lightweight aluminum body contributed to its agility and handling precision. Inside, the car was fitted with luxurious materials, including leather upholstery and wood accents, providing a comfortable and stylish driving experience.
The 350 GT was produced from 1964 to 1966, with only 120 units made, making it a rare and valuable collector’s item today. Its success solidified Lamborghini’s place in the high-performance car market, and its design and engineering influenced subsequent models, helping to shape Lamborghini’s identity in the world of luxury sports cars.
